Omaha, Neb.—March 20, 2023
Omaha, NE – Sporting Nebraska FC is excited to announce its partnership with the Girls Academy (GA) for the 2023-2024 season. The Girls Academy was formed in the fall of 2020. The GA is the leading youth development national soccer platform for the top female soccer players in the United States. The Girls Academy believes in maintaining an unrivaled standard of excellence in coaching and competition, both at the regional and national levels. They are committed to cultivating an environment that allows players to reach their best potential as an athlete and human beings through the love of the game.
For Sporting Nebraska FC, the Girls Academy represents the pathway to showcase their player’s talent at the national level. "The Girls Academy is excited to expand into Nebraska with the addition of Sporting NE. We believe this addition provides the high quality leadership and competition that our members value and look forward to collaborating with as our league grows and evolves. We're excited to see their club perform.” - Lesle Gallimore - Girls Academy Commissioner
The Girls Academy represents the highest level of girls' youth soccer in the U.S. It also provides a pathway to National Team programs, as seen just this past January when several Girls Academy players attended the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team camp. "On behalf of all our staff & female players at Sporting Nebraska FC, we are excited that our club will be joining the Girls Academy (GA) for the 2023/24 soccer year.
